Founder & Executive Director
Jordan has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Global Poverty from University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, he has received numerous leadership-based scholarships from both Santa Rosa Junior College and UC Berkeley including the Cal Alumni Leadership Award and the Blum Center for Developing Economies Fellowship for his remarkable work in the developing world. Jordan also has over 12 years of medical training, working as an Emergency Medical Technician and a credentialed instructor for the American Red Cross. Jordan currently resides in Sebastopol, California, which has been home to his family since the late 1800s. Jordan is also West Sonoma County's elected representative on the Sonoma County Junior College District Board of Trustees. With his determination and passion, Jordan envisions CHI becoming a strong global organization focused on helping every child in need.
James Kimani Kuira
Kenyan Programs Director
James has been with CHI since the inception. He is a teacher by profession, registered with the Kenyan Teachers Service Commission. James is a graduate from Kenyatta University with a Bachelors in Early Childhood Studies. James also has a degree in Project Management from the Kenyan Institute of Management. Currently he is studying for his Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis in strategic management at Jomo Kenyatta University.
James is also an author and currently in the process of having his first book, “The smile of your journey” published. James has over ten years of experience as a school administrator, working in schools such as Gladways Academy, Wankan Academy and Spleng school. James is committed to CHI’s mission and looks forward to expanding CHI’s programs throughout Kenya.

Resource Development Coordinator
Ian is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton and Santa Rosa Junior College. He majored in Theatrical Production and Design for the performing arts. Ian has worked with schools and local Sonoma county theatres as a stage and production manager, and previously founded his own theatre company. When not pursuing his education, Ian has been an advocate and leader in the student community, serving in student government, working with the Student Senate for California Community Colleges. Additionally, Ian contributes his time to the shared governance process at Santa Rosa Junior College as a student, community representative, and alumnus. He has a passion for education and has committed his time to numerous organizations supporting students locally, in the state of California, and through CHI - abroad. Ian looks forward to helping CHI grow and develop as an organization affecting change for students everywhere.
