My Life is Changing

One of the main reasons I came to Kenya was to help out and be with kids. Being around kids and being able to fill them with knowledge has always warmed my heart. So getting to meet the kids today was amazing. Something that I also always had in mind was to come to Kenya. I now realize that I actually want to be a teacher and spend the rest of my life around kids. Today was the first day meeting the kids and I already know that this is what I want. I want to always be happy with what I want to do, and deep down I know this is right for me. The kids are so inspiring and inspired! I fell in love.

Getting to the school was easy and we had to wait a bit for the assembly to start, and I didn’t have any idea what was going to happen. I assure you that the assembly was the best thing that I have seen. The kids were so well behaved and I was extremely impressed. The Scouts had my attention from start to finish. Their drill was so well done and I loved that they were so focused on making us happy. I also enjoyed being a part of giving the kids their awards. Everything is so different from our school’s awards. We don’t get as excited for doing well, and also our teachers and principal are not as enthusiastic about it. I know that by the time I get home my life will change. My life has already been changing – from the second I left home. Things are only getting better for me and I am excited for my future.
